Description
Cobalt is hiring a Director of Product Management, Platform to own the product surfaces that connect our pentesting offerings to the rest of a customer's security and business stack, and that make those offerings easy to evaluate, configure, and scale. This is a newly created role on the Product leadership team, reporting to the VP of Product Management, with direct accountability for platform architecture decisions, the partner and integration ecosystem, pricing and packaging mechanics, access and permissions models, and the operational backbone (tooling, metrics, content) that the rest of Product relies on.
You will lead a team spanning Customer Experience, Product Operations, and Platform/Integrations PMs, and you will be the primary product partner to Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Security/Compliance stakeholders on anything that touches how customers connect to, configure, and pay for Cobalt. This is a high-visibility, build-and-scale role: you'll inherit a working integrations program (including a recently shipped Wiz integration) and a clear mandate to mature it into a defensible platform and ecosystem strategy.
What You'll Own
- Platform & Integrations Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for Cobalt's integration ecosystem (e.g., SFDC, Slack/MS Teams, ticketing and automation tools), including build-vs-partner decisions and a prioritization framework tied to revenue and retention impact.
- Ecosystem & Partnerships: Own the product side of technology partnerships — API/webhook strategy, partner onboarding requirements, and joint roadmap alignment with strategic integration partners.
- Pricing & Packaging: Partner with Finance, Sales, and the VP of Product to design and evolve pricing and packaging across the tiered portfolio, including credits, contracts, and tier-based feature and integration entitlements.
- Roles, Permissions & Access (RBAC): Own the roadmap for role-based access control, authentication, and customer administration capabilities that meet enterprise security and compliance expectations.
- Customer Experience Alignment: Absorb and elevate the Customer Focus charter — customer journey, scoping and calculator experience, findings/reports, asset and engagement management, and customer-facing catalogue — ensuring platform decisions are grounded in real customer workflows.
- Product Operations Leadership: Oversee the operating rhythm of the Product org — roadmap cadence, QBRs, Product Hour, in-platform content (Pendo), technical publications, usage/experience metrics, and tooling/vendor contract management.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of PMs and product operations professionals; set goals, coach for growth, and represent the team's roadmap to the VP of Product and cross-functional leadership.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Engineering leads and Design to translate platform strategy into epics, acceptance criteria, and shippable releases, and with Customer Success/Sales to ensure GTM readiness for platform and integration launches.
What Success Looks Like in the First Year
- A published platform and integration roadmap, prioritized against a clear framework, with at least one new strategic integration shipped.
- A documented pricing/packaging model for tier-based feature and integration entitlements, adopted by Sales and Finance.
- An RBAC and permissions framework that closes known enterprise/compliance gaps and is referenceable in security reviews.
- A unified Product Operations cadence (roadmaps, QBR, Product Hour, usage metrics) running reliably across the org.
- A team of PMs operating with clear ownership, a healthy backlog discipline, and strong cross-functional trust with Engineering, Design, and GTM.
You Must Have
- 8+ years in product management, including 3+ years in a people-leadership role (Director, Group PM, or equivalent), ideally within B2B SaaS or cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated experience owning platform, integrations, or ecosystem products — defining build-vs-partner tradeoffs and shipping API/webhook-based integrations at scale.
- Direct experience with pricing and packaging design for a multi-tier or multi-product SaaS portfolio.
- Working knowledge of access control, authentication, and enterprise security/compliance requirements (RBAC, SSO, SAML/OIDC) as they apply to product design.
- A track record of leading product operations or platform functions that support an entire product organization (metrics, tooling, roadmap cadence), not just a single product line.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills — proven ability to align Engineering, Design, Sales, and Customer Success around a shared roadmap.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting strategy and tradeoffs to executive leadership.
- Bonus: experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or pentesting/offensive security domains; familiarity with Salesforce, Jira/Confluence, and Pendo.
