About This Role
In 1851, a New York bookkeeper named George D. Lyman observed the same absurd ritual each afternoon: porters carried bags of coins and bundles of checks bank to bank down Wall Street, settling by hand, a fortune exposed to error and theft. Lyman's fix: send everything through one central office and settle the net.
A century and a half later, the hard part is unchanged: moving money once is easy; making it work every time, for hundreds of thousands of businesses, across every rail, is hard. The bank account is where a company's financial life happens - payroll clears or it doesn't; a wire lands or a deal slips; the month closes clean, or someone loses a weekend to it.
Business Banking is the heart of Mercury. We're looking for a Head of Product to own it end-to-end: setting product strategy, leading a team of product managers, driving deposit and payment growth, and owning business performance.

- Deepen the core account and take new products 0-1 to scale: optimize what businesses run on, and invest in new rails, capabilities, and agents so customers can focus on building their companies
- Make reliability and trust product features: own uptime, correctness, latency, and support outcomes, and be measured on them
- Align the banking ecosystem: bring product, engineering, design, data, risk, compliance, legal, marketing, sales, support, and partners behind one cohesive strategy

Lyman's fix: send everything through one central office and settle the net. On October 11, 1853, in the basement of 14 Wall Street, 52 banks cleared $22.6 million in a single sitting. Money between banks had stopped being an event and became seamless infrastructure.
A century and a half later, the hard part is unchanged: moving money once is easy; making it work every time, for hundreds of thousands of businesses, across every rail, is hard. Why This Position Matters
This opening may suit candidates who can demonstrate experience relevant to the employer's published requirements. Its strongest career signal is the scope of the work itself — particularly Own the P&L, strategy, and product offering: accounts, user experience, payments, new rails, and agents — rather than a generic title alone.
Resume & Application Strategy
For the application, connect specific examples from your experience to the responsibilities and qualifications in the employer's description. Quantify outcomes from comparable work, and place the most relevant evidence near the top of the resume. When the employer explicitly names tools, platforms, leadership scope, or domain experience, use those source terms accurately and in context.
We organize source-provided information into this independent job-seeker overview. Compensation is shown only when the source provides it; the official listing remains the authority for current requirements and application instructions.
